House centipedes or Scutigera coleoptrata are arthropods that belong to the class Chilopoda. They can live up to three years.

These flattened, elongated insects have poison glands, but they don’t bite frequently and when they do, it’s not life-threatening.
You can usually encounter these critters in damp places, and they are especially active at night.
